Gary is the principal of CI Accountancy and has been an accountant in practice since 1987. His experience spans many countries and jurisdictions, and for 7 years until 2004 he was an external tax consultant to one of the global big four practices in sub-Saharan Africa

Gary was also one of the first members of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners in 1995. STEP is now a global professional body for Trust specialists, Gary remains active within the organization, being a member of the regional management committee and the UK national committee.  Prior to becoming an accountant, he trained as a builder’s surveyor.

Having originally trained and worked in Jersey, Gary has a strong background in tourism and related leisure and licensing industries. Also with respect to trusts and taxation relating to inheritance and capital gains planning, particularly in relation to those owning assets in foreign jurisdictions.

His core beliefs are that CI Accountancy’s service delivery should be tailored for each client, and that clients should not be expected to fit into a standardised delivery system. Hence the firm’s motto:

‘Your best interests, our first concern.’

Gary strongly believes in training and supporting his staff, to ensure good continuity and staff retention. He believes this translates into a higher standard of service delivery to our clients.

Gary and his wife own a small holding with a stable yard, giving a particular insight into farming, estates and equine industries.   He is a former international water polo player, and enthusiastic (but not very good) rugby player. His hobbies are being an equally enthusiastic and passionate supporter of rugby, his horse Paddy, fishing and cooking.
